MONROE — Better Brodhead is pleased to announce that it will be hosting Counseling on Access to Lethal Means (CALM) Training at the Monroe Public Library on Wednesday, May 21.

This free, 90-minute suicide awareness and safety training is designed to educate the community on recognizing signs of suicide, responding effectively to those at risk, and connecting individuals to critical resources for support and safety.

Three training sessions will be available throughout the day, offering multiple opportunities for the general public to participate:

●  9:30 a.m. — 11 a.m.

●  12:30 p.m. — 2 p.m.

●  2:30 p.m. — 4 p.m.

The CALM training empowers attendees with the knowledge and skills needed to support individuals experiencing suicidal thoughts and help prevent suicide through safety strategies.

Better Brodhead is a community coalition dedicated to preventing and reducing alcohol and drug use among youth while encouraging positive relationships and promoting overall well-being.

This free training opportunity is made possible through a grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)
