Tomorrow, The Monroe Times publishes its third annual People You Should Know special section. Its our chance to feature ordinary people in Green and Lafayette counties who do extraordinary things. A few of the names will be familiar to you. Hopefully, youll hear some new ones, as well.
I hope you werent looking for the section in todays paper on online. In Saturdays newspaper edition, there was a promotion for the section that promised its inclusion in Mondays paper. Problem is, it was scheduled for Tuesday instead of Monday. It wasnt even printed Monday when we finished the daily newspaper.
That was our mixup in the newsroom. I wasnt aware of it until our managers meeting on Monday when one of the department heads mentioned that we had the wrong day in Saturdays paper. And, of course, the date was wrong on all of the pages. But, since the section hadnt been printed yet, we were able to go back in and put the correct dates on the pages.
Whew!
