LA CROSSE — The Green County Gators Swim Team attended the five team, two day 2025 Frostbite Invite hosted by the La Crosse Area Family YMCA Wave Swim Team (LAXY) on Jan. 4-5. Multiple swimmers clocked personal records (PRs) for various events. Event awards were given to first-12th place. The Gators took fourth place overall with 14 swimmers attending earning a combined score of 458. Gators had multiple swimmers swim state YMCA qualifying times.
Gunnison Hartley (12), Wren Hartley (8), Everett Ramirez (8) and Barrett Berg (12) earned the most individual points for the team; Gunnison earned 105, Wren earned 91, Everett earned 86 and Barrett earned 77. Gunnison swam Boys 11&O 50Y Free earning 2nd with 29.82, Boys 11&O 200Y IM earning 2nd with 2:44.08, Boys 11&O 100Y Free earning 5th with 1:04.57, Boys 11-12 50Y Fly earning 1st with 32.97, Boys 11&O 200Y Free earning 2nd with 2:17.78 and Boys 11&O 500Y Free earning 1st with 6:03.99. Wren swam Girls 8&U 25Y Breast earning 5th with 26.07, Girls 8&U 50Y Back earning 1st with 45.56, Girls 10&U 100Y Free earning 1st with 1:28.83, Girls 8&U 50Y Free earning 1st with 39.76, Girls 8&U 50Y Fly earning 2nd with 54.12 and also completed in Girls 10&U 100Y IM with 1:49.79. Everett swam Boys 8&U 25Y Breast earning 7th with 29.55, Boys 8&U 50Y Back earning 5th with 50.48, Boys 10&U 100Y IM earning 3rd with 1:59.41, Boys 8&U 25Y Back earning 3rd with 23.86, Boys 8&U 50Y Free earning 7th with 44.84 and Boys 8&U 25Y Free earning 3rd with 18.83. Barrett swam Boys 11&O 50Y Free earning 1st with 27.65, Boys 11&O 100Y Free earning 1st with 1:00.61, Boys 11-12 50Y Breast earning 2nd with 40.40 and Boys 11&O 200Y Free earning 1st with 2:16.62.
Other contenders earning points for the Gators included Olivia Hustad (9) swimming Girls 10&U 200Y Free earning 4th with 3:17.51, Girls 9-10 50Y Back earning 9th with 47.15, Girls 10&U 100Y Back earning 6th with 1:40.94, Girls 9-10 50Y Free earning 10th with 40.87, Girls 10&U 100Y IM with 1:56.20 and Girls 9-10 50Y Breast with 1:02.89. Olive Akins (9) swam Girls 10&U 200Y Free earning 5th with 3:29.79, Girls 9-10 50Y Back with 51.01, Girls 10&U 100Y IM, Girls 9-10 50Y Breast earning 8th with 51.64, Girls 9-10 50Y Free with 43.77, Girls 10&U 50Y Fly earning 12th with 59.02. The Gators participated in two relay events; Girls 10&U 200 Free Relay, Wren Hartley (8), Scarlett Hammon (9), Olive Akins(9) and Olivia Hustad (9) and Girls 11-12 Medley Relay, Charlotte Stuessy (11), Isabella Rake (12), Anneliese Ramirez (12) and Georgia Christen (11). Other individual swimmers that participated were Georgia Christen (11), Hazel Christen (8), Scarlett Hammon (9), Lauren Kosmosky (11), Stella Rolli (11) and Charlotte Stuessy (11).
