Gators swim at Walk the Plank at Long Course Meet

The Green County Family YMCA Gators competed at the 11th Annual Pirates Plunge Long Course Swim Meet held June 5-7 at the Walter Schroeder Aquatic Center in Brown Deer, Wisconsin. The USA Swimming-approved meet was hosted by Southeastern Aquatics (SEA) and featured 15 teams from across the region.

Competition was divided into two age groups: 12 & Under and Open. Representing the Gators were Olive Akins (11), Barrett Berg (14), Scarlett Hammon (10), Olivia Hustad (10), Anneliese Ramirez (13), and Everett Ramirez (10).

Several Gators claimed heat victories during the three-day meet. Olivia Hustad and Scarlett Hammon each earned one heat win, while Olive Akins and Everett Ramirez captured two heat victories apiece. Barrett Berg led the team with three heat wins.

The meet also produced two Green County YMCA Gators team records. Everett Ramirez established a new 9—10 Boys 200 Meter Freestyle record with a time of 2:54.85, breaking the previous mark of 3:00.18 set by Logan Ringhand in 2017. In the Open 400 Meter Freestyle, Barrett Berg lowered his own team record with a time of 4:58.77, surpassing his previous record of 5:04.75 set in June 2025.
