Family Train Day at Stockton Heritage Museum
Stockton Train Day

STOCKTON — The Stockton Heritage Museum will host Family Train Day on Saturday, Sept. 19, during regular museum hours from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Stop in and check out the progress on the Chicago Great Western model railroad layout. Nathan Howe, local engineer, has been hard at work updating and modernizing the setup, and many volunteers have contributed their time and talent to buildings, scenery, and farms. The layout isn’t finished yet, but there is already plenty to enjoy.

Families are encouraged to bring children to watch the trains run and take part in a variety of activities, including stickers, temporary tattoos, coloring pages, and an I Spy game. Activities are open to all ages.

Whether you’re a train enthusiast or simply curious, come watch the trains roll from Woodbine to downtown Stockton and on to the East Stockton roundhouse. Explore the railroad history that shaped our area.

This free event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 19, and all are welcome.
