MILTON - The Milton baseball team handed Monroe its second loss as the Red Hawks beat the Cheesemakers 13-4 Tuesday.
Monroe sophomore Hogan Edwards got the start and gave up two runs in the first inning. He struck out two and walked five.
Monroe (0-2) was limited to just two hits one day after getting nine hits in a 13-6 season-opening loss to Dodgeville. Monroe senior Carter Adkins had a double for the Cheesemakers.
The Red Hawks scored four runs in both the third and fourth innings to take a 10-2 lead.
It marked the second game of a five-game stretch this week for Monroe.
Monroe will look to pick up its first win Thursday when it hosts Fort Atkinson. The Cheesemakers will then play a doubleheader Saturday at Reedsburg, a Badger North school.
