McArdle, Shuda dominate MG in win

MONONA - Behind another dominating effort from Kristin McArdle and Ellie Shuda at No.1 and No. 2 singles, the Monroe Cheesemakers rolled over Monona Grove in Badger Conference girls tennis, Tuesday, 5-2.

As the No. 1 singles player, McArdle topped Monona Grove's Beth Flannery 6-2, 6-1. Shuda, at No. 2 singles, was equally impressive with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Veronnica Thompson.

Kiera Berger lost to Monona Grove's Amelia Lardy in No. 3 singles, 6-4, 6-4. Lily Priewe defeated Ashli Paulson 7-5, 6-0 at No. 4 singles.

The Cheesemakers doubles team took two of three matchups with the Silver Eagles. Monroe's No. 1 doubles team of Ashley Hermanson and Kelsey Erickson were victorious over Sarah Speigle and Ella Vaughn, 6-1, 6-1.

Emily Grossen and Gwen Sutter were 6-3, 6-4 winners over Monona Grove's Alyssa Strangstalien and Nicole Hildebrandt in No. 2 doubles. Taylor Weis and McKenzie Bruce fell in a hard-fought match 7-6, 6-4 to Stephanie Slinoe and Mykenzy Palmer in No. 3 doubles.

The Cheesemakers travel to Fort Atkinson, Sept. 15.
