Vikings sweep Pardeeville quad

PARDEEVILLE — The Parkview-Albany wrestling team improved to 17-2 in duals with victories over Marshall, Pardeeville and Watertown Luther Prep in a quadrangular on Tuesday, Jan. 24.

The Vikings opened with a 45-24 win over the Cardinals. Danny Finley (120) opened with a forfeit for six points. After a Marshall pin, Parkview-Albany scored the next 15 points with a pin from Ian Suer (132), forfeit in favor of Nicolas Zamora (145) and 6-3 decision for Evan Suer (138).

Marshall won the next three matches, but the Vikings closed out the dual with pins from Sam Schwengels (182), Wyatt Egan (195), and a forfeit for Wesley Egan (220).

In a 47-30 win over Pardeeville, Parkview-Albany scored the first 18 points with decisions from Finley and Ian Suer. Evan Suer and Zamora then pinned their opponents. Pardeeville responded with 18 points of its own, but four forfeits in favor of the Vikings tipped the scales.  

Parkview-Albany defeated Watertown Luther Prep 59-24 with eight pins from Jayden Anderson (160), Sam Schwengels (182), Slater Valley (106), Evan Suer, Wyatt Egan, Wesley Egan, Finley and Zamora. The remaining five points came from a 18-3 technical fall from Ian Suer.

Ian Suer, Evan Suer, Wyatt Egan, Wesley Egan, Finley, Zamora, Schwengels and Valley all recorded three wins on the day.

The Vikings sit atop the Trailways Conference southern division at 5-0 with Deerfield half a match back at 5-1. Markesan took the northern division at 6-0. The Trailways Conference tournament will be held in Parkview on Saturday, Feb. 4.
