MONROE — The Wis. 81/County N intersection near Monroe in Green County will become an all-way stop on Tuesday, July 28. Stop and Stop Ahead signs will be placed in both direction on Wis. 81 and County N. Flashing red beacons will also be added on the Wis. 81 legs of the intersection.

Motorists are advised to be aware of the new stop condition at the location. Temporary message boards have been deployed to provide advance warning of the new traffic control.

The intersection has had several dangerous accidents in the past, including a fatal crash in September 2023 that claimed the life of a Marshfield man.

The all-way stop will remain in place until construction of a roundabout scheduled for 2030.
