To the Editor:

Recent financial reports show Wisconsin Republicans Tom Tiffany and Derrick Van Orden have been flooded with billionaire bucks funneled through the state GOP. This dark money is a direct payback. All three voted for the federal tax bill that gave permanent breaks to the wealthy while increasing our national debt by $3.4 trillion. (Temporary breaks for tips and overtime pay expire at the end of 2028.)

The over six million to Tiffany alone accounts for three quarters of his funds. No wonder that he can put slick ads on the air already!

To pay for these tax breaks, they cut Medicaid, SNAP food assistance, clean energy incentives, student loans, and assistance for the Affordable Care Act. Still, the Congressional Budget Office estimates this will increase the federal debt by $3.4 TRILLION over the next ten years.

Their funding also explains their local policies. In his run for governor, Tiffany opposed a state surplus compromise that helped public schools, stating he wants future surpluses to go solely to tax relief. This ensures the wealthy benefit while our public schools are forced into endless referendums just to survive.

While average taxpayers struggle with high prices caused by tariffs and foreign conflict, these candidates ignore real government waste and self-enrichment. They claim to fight fraud, but their true goal is taking a chainsaw to vital public programs.

Tiffany and Van Orden do not represent everyday Wisconsinites.

It is time to vote Tiffany and Van Orden down and take our country back!
