Vikings sound off against Siren

MAUSTON — The Vikings defeated the Dragons, pounding out 13 hits at the Wisconsin Dells’ Woodside Sports Complex on Thursday, April 6. 

Jameson Johnson had a big day at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a triple, homerun and three RBIs. He was one of four players to have a multiple-hit game. Elijah Knutson, Carson Kurschner and Tyler McKeon all went 3-for-4. Knutson tallied a triple with two RBIs, while Kurschner also smashed a triple with two runs scored. McKeon scored three runs and stole two bases.

On the bump, Pecatonica needed just two pitchers to collect the win. Kurschner got the start, throwing two innings of two-hit ball. Coy Ruegsegger pitched four innings of relief to collect the win. He struck out five and didn’t issue a walk.


DARLINGTON 13, RIVERDALE 7

MUSCODA — Tye Crist went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead the Redbirds to victory on Thursday, April 6.

The junior lined a double to left, scored two runs and drove in four others. Gage Banfield and Cadyn Burbach also recorded multiple hits, while Banfield, Maddox Goebel and Reagan Jackson chipped in two RBIs each.

Jackson started on the bump, earning the win. He pitched two innings, giving up three earned runs on three hits. Breylin Goebel threw four innings of relief, allowing just one earned run on three hits. He struck out five. Burbach finished the game with a scoreless bottom of the seventh.


CAMBRIDGE 17, MONTICELLO-ALBANY 0

CAMBRIDGE — The Blue Jays no-hit the Ponies in a nonconference contest on Thursday, April 6.

Monticello-Albany had just three runners on base, as Aidan Harvey reached on a walk and Leon Parker and Nate Stokstad were hit by a pitch.

The Ponies used a pitching staff of four, as each player threw one inning. Cody Pryce got the start, giving up 10 runs, all of which were unearned. Parker, Stokstad and Tyler Patchen struck out two batters each in their outing.

In other local baseball, McFarland defeated Brodhead-Juda 16-5.
