Monroe wins RVC Mini-Meet; DHS plays thrice

EAST TROY — The Monroe Cheesemakers won the Rock Valley Conference Mini-Meet #3 by shooting a 159 at Alpine Valley Golf Course at East Troy on Thursday, April 30.

Senior Hans Brandt was the medalist with a 36. Senior Brady Stuart was fifth overall with a 40. Senior Brody Koehn came in eighth overall by shooting a 41. Junior Troy Spotts fired a 42, which was good for 10th place overall. Senior Brock Brandli had a 44, which put him in 15th place.

The Cheesemakers will face New Glarus for the Little Swiss Cup at Edleweiss Chalet Country Club in New Glarus on Wednesday, May 6.

Capitol Conference Mini-Meet #4

COLUMBUS — The New Glarus Glarner Knights placed sixth with a 176 and Monticello-Belleville finished eighth with a 193 at the Capitol Conference Mini-Meet #4 at Columbus Golf Course on Thursday, April 30.

For New Glarus, sophomore Kellen Martinson fired a birdie and finished with a 43 and senior Isaac Ingwell also shot a 43. Junior Kofi Belknap also had a birdie and fired a 44. Freshman Braden Goodness carded a 46, which included three pars. Senior Grady Johnson ended with a 52 for the Glarner Knights.

For Monticello-Belleville, senior Jackson Scholey finished 11th overall with a 41. Senior Caleb Heiser had a 45. Senior Kole McCutchin came up with a 52. Senior Cooper Nemec shot a 55, and junior Raife Jurrens had a 62.

SWAL Mini-Meet #4

MINERAL POINT — At the Southwest Wisconsin Activities League Mini-Meet #4 at Dodge-Point Country Club, Argyle-Pecatonica finished in fourth place with a 183. Darlington was fifth with a 192 on Friday, May 1. Cuba City/Southwestern/Benton won the meet with a 167. The medalist was Ben Thill of Cuba City/Southwestern/Benton with a 39.

Junior Avari Steiner led Argyle-Pecatonica with a 44, which placed her ninth overall. Junior Blake Ferrell shot a 45. Senior Cohlman Schlimgen fired a 47. Senior Caleb McKenna carded a 47. Sophomore Tucker Bethke shot a 49.

For the Darlington Redbirds, junior Kaleb King led the team with a 46. Seniors Blaze White and Broker Buschor each shot a 48. Senior Alex Fox fired a 50. Sophomore Tavin Brunkow fired a 55.

Par for the Dodge-Point Golf Course is 36.

River Valley Invitational

SPRING GREEN — The Darlington Redbirds shot a 384 to finish in ninth place at the River Valley Invitational golf meet at the House On The Rock Golf Course at Spring Green on Saturday, May 2.

Junior Kaleb King led the Redbirds with 91. Senior Broker Buschor was next for Darlington with a 94. Sophomore Alex Stauffacher fired a 98. Senior Blaze White shot a 101. Senior Alex Fox had a 103.

Reedsburg won the invitational with a 324.

The meet was the third straight day of competition for Darlington, which was scheduled to participate in a SWAL Mini-Meet at Yellowstone Golf Course at Argyle on Monday, May 4.
