EAST TROY — Brinley Roidt, Sophie Golembiewski and Kaegann Paulson tallied homeruns in Monroe’s five-inning 13-0 win over East Troy May 13.

Roidt finished a triple short of the cycle, going 3-for-3 with a homerun, double, four RBIs and four runs scored. Kate Kundert, 2-for-3, and Golembiewski, 2-for-4, also drove in multiple runs. Collectively, Monroe tallied 15 hits and 12 RBIs.

Paulson pitched a complete-game two-hitter. She struck out four and walked one.


MARSHALL 10, MONROE 0

MARSHALL — Olivia Feller was the only batter standing in the way of a perfect game for Marshall pitcher Kennedy Weisensel. Feller recorded the only hit for the Cheesemakers in a five-inning loss to the No. 6 Cardinals May 15.

Kaegann Paulson suffered the loss, giving up five unearned runs on seven hits. She struck out two and walked one. Sophie Golembiewski gave up four unearned runs on five hits and recorded just one out. Collectively, Monroe committed four errors, leading to nine unearned runs.


BRODHEAD 3, BIG FOOT 2;

BIG FOOT 4, BRODHEAD 2

WALWORTH — The Cardinals, who dropped to No. 2 in Division 3 in the latest WisSports.net Coaches Poll, split a pair of one-run Rock Valley Conference games on May 14. The Chieftains spoiled a perfect conference season for the Cardinals, as WIAA softball playoffs begin May 16.

In the opener, each team tallied three hits with one error. The difference was in walks, as Brodhead drew 10 compared to Big Foot’s three. Tatum Ceslok led the Cardinal offense, going 1-for-2 with a double, one RBI, one run scored and two walks.

Ava Risum, who was named the National Fastpitch Coaches Association North Regional Player of the Week for April 29, gave up one earned run on three hits. She struck out 11.

In the nightcap, Big Foot overcame the odds to defeat Brodhead. Hits, walks and errors mirrored each other. In fact, the Cardinals struck out fewer times than the Chieftains (10-3). 

Keegan Steinke went 3-for-3 with an RBI and run scored. Sophia Leitzen suffered the loss, giving up four runs on six hits. She struck out 10 and walked five.


JUDA-ALBANY 10, MONTICELLO-NEW GLARUS 2

MONTICELLO — After a tight game in the first meeting, Juda-Albany unloaded against Monticello-New Glarus in a Six Rivers East game May 14. The Panthers pounded out 16 hits, with four of them for extra bases.

Myah Johnson went 2-for-4 with two doubles and five RBIs. Avary Briggs and Alana Durtschi also had big days at the plate, going a combined 8-for-10 with a double and three RBIs. Anna Ellinger recorded a multiple-hit game, too, finishing 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored.

Briggs picked up the win, giving up one earned run on six hits. She struck out seven and didn’t issue a walk.

Molly Olson and Karlee Wilkins made up a majority of MNG’s offense, going a combined 5-for-7. Kira Whisler suffered the loss, giving up two earned runs on seven hits in two innings pitched.


BENTON-SHULLSBURG 8, MONTICELLO-NEW GLARUS 2

SHULLSBURG — Dalana Trumpy provided all of the Ponies’ offense in a Six Rivers Conference crossover loss on May 13. The junior finished 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Melanie Fink had the only RBI.

Kira Whisler was charged with the loss, giving up three earned runs on seven hits. She struck out seven and walked one.


BENTON-SHULLSBURG 4, ARGYLE-BLACK HAWK 0

SHULLSBURG — Four errors came back to haunt the Orioles in a Six Rivers Conference crossover loss on May 13. 

Outside of the defensive blemishes, pitchers Mya McNett and Jessie Ray were locked in a pitcher’s duel, as there were seven total hits in the game. ABH received knocks from Maddy Lange, Ava Wiegel and Brinley Meinert.

McNett suffered the loss, giving up two earned runs on four hits. She struck out five but walked eight.


BARNEVELD 10, 

ARGYLE-BLACK HAWK 0

ARGYLE — An eight-run third inning by the No. 6 Eagles put the Orioles away in a Six Rivers East Conference game May 14.

Adrionna Ubersox was the only batter to reach twice, drawing two walks. Kylie Butler, Sam Kammes, Alexis Rosenstiel and Brianna Wilhelmson tallied hits.

Mya McNett was charged with the loss, giving up four earned runs on seven hits. She struck out three and walked five in three innings’ work.


PECATONICA 2, 

RIVER RIDGE 0

PATCH GROVE — Bri Peterson and Diana Hendrickson combined for a three-hit shutout in a Six Rivers Conference crossover win May 13. The pair struck out 12 and walked four.

Offensively, Alyssa Cassidy and Brooklyn Johnsrud led the Vikings, going 1-for-3 with an RBI each.

FENNIMORE — The Redbirds suffered a pair of mercy-rule losses, resulting in a SWAL sweep on May 13.

In the opener, Darlington mustered just two hits from Maddy Corley and Braelyn Grossen. Sophie Wiegel suffered the loss, giving up three earned runs on six hits.

The Redbirds fared better in the nightcap, doubling their offensive output. The top of the order — Lylah Norgard, Sydney Wiegel and Sophie Wiegel — accounted for four of the team’s five hits. Norgard also tallied an RBI and walk.

Sophie Wiegel was charged with the loss, giving up seven earned runs on 14 hits.


BOSCOBEL 12, DARLINGTON 3

DARLINGTON — A three-run third was not enough for the Redbirds in a SWAL loss to the No. 5 Bulldogs on May 14.

Sydney Wiegel and Lilly Ritchie went a combined 4-for-6 with a double and two RBIs. Sophie Wiegel was the pitcher of record, giving up 10 earned runs on 18 hits. She struck out four and didn’t issue a walk.
