BRODHEAD — Mady Henning and Natalie Pierce each homered as the Brodhead Cardinals shut out the Dodgeville Dodgers 5-0 in nonconference softball on Monday, April 20.
Henning also shut down the Dodgers on three hits. Henning pitched all seven innings and had no walks and eight strikeouts. Henning threw 61 of her 94 pitches for strikes.
Keegan Steinke went 1x3 and scored a run and Leah Rear was 1x3 with a double and a run scored for the Cardinals.
Brodhead (5-1-1, 3-1) hosted Whitewater in a Rock Valley Conference crossover game on Tuesday, April 21. The Cardinals also had an RVC-Rock game on Friday, April 24 at Turner.

BRODHEAD — Elise Rear went 3x3 with a double and scored a run while Karli Krumweide also went 3x3 with an RBI and a run scored to help the Brodhead Cardinals get a 9-6 win over the Whitewater Whippets in a Rock Valley crossover game on Tuesday, April 21.
Mady Henning got the win in the pitching circle with seven innings pitched, six runs, three earned, three walks, and six strikeouts.
Brodhead (6-1-1, 4-1) was to travel to Beloit to face the Turner Trojans on Friday, April 24 in an RVC-Rock game.
Barneveld 7, Monticello-New Glarus 8
MONTICELLO — Molly Olson hit a home run and Annie Olson had a double and drove in three runs, but it wasn’t enough as the Barneveld Golden Eagles held on to beat Monticello-New Glarus 7-6 in Six Rivers softball on Monday, April 20. It was the first loss of the season for the Ponies.
Mabel Jordan was 3x4 with two doubles and Brooke Ryan and Malorie Miller each had a double as the Ponies racked up 13 hits. Monticello-New Glarus was down 7-0 after two innings but battled back with two runs in the third, one in the fifth, and three runs in the sixth.
Monticello-New Glarus 6, Belmont 3
MONTICELLO — First baseman Malorie Miller got two hits and three RBIs to lead the Ponies to a 6-3 win over the defending Division 5 State Champion Belmont Braves in Six Rivers action on Tuesday, April 21.
Center fielder Eliza Legris had a double and drove in a run and starting pitcher Heidi Olson went 2x4 with a run batted in. Olson pitched seven innings and gave up three runs on five hits, four walks, and nine strikeouts.
Monticello-New Glarus (7-1, 4-1) was to be at River Ridge for a Six Rivers game scheduled on Thursday, April 23 and at home against Benton-Shullsburg for another conference game scheduled on Friday, April 24.
River Ridge 13, Pecatonica 3
PATCH GROVE — The River Ridge Timberwolves scored 10 unanswered runs over the final three innings to take a 13-3 win in six innings over the Pecatonica Vikings in Six River softball on Monday, April 20.
The game was tied 3-3 after three innings, but the Timberwolves pulled away with a six-run sixth inning. Tatum Kurschner hit a triple and drove in two runs and Kiaya York had a double for the Vikings.

BLANCHARDVILLE — Katelynne Jorenby got two hits in two at-bats, including a double, but the Pecatonica Vikings got only four hits in the game as the Barneveld Eagles rolled past the Vikings 14-0 in five innings in a Six Rivers game
Pecatonica (2-7, 1-4 Six Rivers) will travel to Benton-Shullsburg for a conference game on Monday, April 27.
Potosi-Cassville 4, Argyle-Black Hawk 3
POTOSI — Emily Schaefer tagged up and scored on a sacrifice fly with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Potosi-Cassville a 4-3 win over Argyle-Black Hawk in Six Rivers softball on Monday, April 20.
Claire Holmes was 1x2 with two RBIs for the Orioles. Kylie Butler went 2x4 with a double and a run batted in and Ava Martin got a hit and scored a run for Argyle-Black Hawk. Brynn Harris took the loss after pitching 6.2 innings and gave up four runs on five hits, six walks, and six strikeouts.
Argyle-Black Hawk 3, Highland 0
HIGHLAND — The Orioles pounded out 10 hits and Brynn Harris pitched a three-hit shutout to lead Argyle-Black Hawk to a 3-0 win over the Highland Cardinals in Six Rivers softball on Tuesday, April 21.
Kylie Butler was 2x3 with a run scored and Brianna Wilhelmson went 2x4 with an RBI and a run scored.
Next up for Argyle-Black Hawk (4-8, 2-4) was a conference road game at River Ridge on Friday, April 24.
Wisconsin Heights 11, Belleville 10
MAZOMANIE — The Wisconsin Heights Vanguards scored a run on a fielder’s choice in the seventh inning to slip by the Belleville Wildcats 11-10 on Tuesday, April 21 in Capitol South softball.
Ava Chapman led off the game with a home run for Belleville and Story Fossum drove in three runs for the Wildcats. Brynn Ennis tripled and scored a run for Belleville.
The Wildcats (1-4, 2-7) were scheduled to host Argyle-Black Hawk on Thursday, April 23 and then go to Darlington on Friday, April 24 in scheduled nonconference games.
Belmont 9, Juda-Albany 6
ALBANY — A couple of errors with two outs in the fifth inning led to three runs and allowed the Belmont Braves to down Juda-Albany 9-6 in Six Rivers action on Monday, April 20.
Jubany trailed 5-0 going into the bottom of the third inning, but rallied with five runs to tie it. Belmont took an 8-5 lead in the fifth inning and added another run in the sixth to go ahead 9-5. Jubany scored a run in the bottom of the seventh but it wasn’t enough as the Braves prevailed.
Leadoff hitter Ryleigh Brown went 4x4 with a double and scored two runs for Juda-Albany. Emerson Briggs hit two doubles and scored a run. Phoenix Homan was 2x3 with a double.
Briggs pitched four innings and gave up seven runs on nine hits. Briggs did not walk a batter and fanned six. Brown came on in relief and pitched three innings and allowed one run on three hits and struck out three.
Juda-Albany 18, Benton-Shullsburg 3
SHULLSBURG — Shortstop Emersen Butts got four hits and drove in four runs as Jubany scored a season-high 18 runs in an 18-3 win over Benton-Shullsburg on Tuesday, April 21.
The Panthers (5-2-1, 4-3 Six Rivers) scored 10 runs in the first two innings. Emerson Briggs was 2x4 with three RBIs and scored two runs. Olivia Brooks got three hits, scored two runs and drove in two runs to lead the Panthers’ offense which tallied 17 hits.
The Panthers were to travel to Barneveld on April 23 and host Highland on April 24, both Six Rivers Conference games.
Riverdale 11, Darlington 5
DARLINGTON — The Darlington Redbirds turned a 4-0 deficit into a one-run game, but the Riverdale Chieftains scored seven runs over the final four innings to beat the Redbirds 11-5 in SWAL softball on Monday, April 20.
The Chieftains scored three runs in the first inning and another run in the second inning to take a 4-0 lead against starting pitcher Sydney Wiegel for Darlington. The Redbirds pulled to within 4-3 with a 3-run third inning, but the Chieftains pulled away over the last four innings and had 15 hits for the game.
Wiegel drove in four runs for the Redbirds and Raynie Norgard went 2x4 with an RBI and a double to lead Darlington in hitting. Lilly Ritchie, Ali Wineland and Maicy Norgard also had base hits for Darlington. Wiegel pitched 4.1 innings and allowed eight runs on 10 hits. Six runs were earned. Wiegel walked three and struck out two.
Darlington (2-6, 0-4) will travel to Cuba City for a SWAL conference game scheduled on Thursday, April 23 before a nonconference game at home against Belleville on Friday, April 24.
