MONROE — Three Six Rivers East players were named first-team all-state in girls basketball by the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association.
Black Hawk senior Bailey Butler, who was also named the state’s Miss Basketball for top overall player, led the first-team, with senior teammate Kaylee Marty joining her. Brianna Dahl of Albany was also named to the first team. Butler has been an all-state selection four times. This is the first time Dahl and Marty have received the distinguished honor.
Butler and Marty helped lead Black Hawk (21-1) to a No. 1 overall ranking and a trip to state for the fourth consecutive year. Butler led the state in scoring (28.3 ppg) and assists (7.9), was third in steals (6.2), while also averaging 7.8 rebounds per game. She led Division 5 in 3-point shooting percentage. Marty was second on the Warriors in scoring (15.0), steals (3.0) and assists (2.9). Both players shot above 50% from the field and 35% from beyond the arc.
Dahl led the Comets to a 19-3 record and a third-place ranking in the state. All three losses came against Black Hawk. A junior, Dahl led Albany in points (16.3 ppg), rebounds (6.9), assists (4.1) and steals (4.3). she also hit 36.2% of her 3-point attempts (25 of 69).
