ALBANY - Barneveld's Courtney Skaife scored a game-high 17 points and the Golden Eagles rolled to a win over Albany Tuesday 64-46.

Barneveld (10-9, 7-3 Six Rivers East) opened the game with a 7-0 run. The Eagles led by 12-points at the half, 35-23.

"They just came out with a lot more energy than we did with that run right off the bat," Albany coach Derik Doescher said. "We found ourselves trying to climb back out of the whole game. We got within 10 a couple times. You just expend so much energy when you get behind like that."

Barneveld's Taryn Pickarts hit three of the Eagles' six 3-pointers and finished with 12 points.

Albany junior Payton Zurfluh scored a team-high 14 points. With the loss, Albany drops to 8-11 overall and 5-5 in the Six Rivers East Conference.

"They (Barneveld) are a scary team right now," Doescher said. "I wouldn't want to see them in the tournament because they are playing so well together right now."

Juda 57, Pecatonica 19

BLANCHARDVILLE - Juda sophomore Montana Steinmann scored a game-high 19 points to power the Panthers to a Six Rivers East Conference victory over Pecatonica.

Juda (7-11, 3-7 Six Rivers East) jumped out to a 22-point lead at the half, 32-10. Juda senior Maddie Roth added 12 and junior Hannah Powers chipped in 8.

"The two things we are struggling with most as a team are finishing on the inside and our strength and physicality on the defensive end," Pecatonica coach Bobby Rose said. "It really comes to show against a team like Juda. If you are not shooting the ball with confidence or rebounding against them it will be rough because Juda doesn't quit."

Pecatonica junior Abby Loomis scored a team-high 7 points. With the loss, Pecatonica drops to 1-19 overall and 0-11 in the Six Rivers East.

Darlington 54, Boscobel 45

BOSCOBEL - The Redbirds used a big first half to outlast Boscobel in a Southwest Wisconsin Activities League battle.

Darlington junior Kaylee Meyers scored a game-high 24 points to pace the Redbirds. Senior teammate Kennedy Rankin added 11. Darlington (15-4, 11-1 SWAL) jumped out to an 11-point lead at the half. Boscobel had three players in double figures led by Leah Wacker with a team-high 14 points. With the win, the Redbirds remain tied atop the league with Cuba City.

Belleville 52, Monticello 50

MONTICELLO - Sophomore Reece Rufer had a monster game scoring a game-high 30 points, but Belleville escaped with a nonconference win over the Ponies Tuesday.

Belleville (7-11, 1-5 Capitol South) led 29-21 at the half. The Ponies mounted a comeback in the second half. Rufer scored 16 points in the second half and hit two 3-pointers.

Monticello senior Braden Gafner added 8 points. With the loss, Monticello drops to 6-10 overall and 3-4 in the Six Rivers East Conference.
