BLANCHARDVILLE - Junior Dakota Conwell has recovered from a leg injury and in his first start of the season tossed a one-hit shutout to help the Pecatonia High School baseball team knock off Black Hawk 10-0 in five innings Monday.
Conwell pitched a complete game and struck out six, while walking just one.
"He has battled a leg injury," Pecatonica coach Jim Strommen said. "He pitched really well. We had some really nice plays defensively to help him out."
Pecatonica (17-1, 11-0 Six Rivers East), ranked No. 2 in the WisSports.net Division 4 coaches' poll, had a five-run first inning to jump out to an early lead. Pecatonica senior Kyle Kleppe had an RBI double in the first. Senior Gavin Burdick had a two-run single, and junior Cory Linder had an RBI single.
Junior Logan Green, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, drove in a run with a single.
"Those two-out hits are big," Strommen said. "Both of his hits were with two outs."
Pecatonica freshman Colton Schraepfer finished 2-for-3 with one RBI.
