Avalanche's Mite B nets 4-4 tie; A falls 7-1

STOUGHTON - On Sunday, the Monroe Avalanche Mite B Team, which consists of first-year mite players ages 5- to 8-years-old, squared off with the Stoughton Mite B squad at Mandt Park and tied 4-4.

Stoughton got out to an early 1-0 lead before Luke Kuberski scored twice to put Monroe up 2-1. Stoughton added three straight goals in during the second period to take a 4-2 lead.

At the end of the second, Brock Kuberski passed the puck to Riley Jones, who put the puck in the net to close the gap, 4-3.

In the third period, Luke Kuberski tied the game with his third goal, assisted by Riley Jones. Cade Janecke had 20 saves at goalie.

Monroe Avalanche Mite A Team

ROCKFORD - The Monroe Avalanche Mite A Team, consisting of players ages 7 to 8, traveled to Rockford to play the Roadrunner Mite A Team. The Avalanche lost 7-1.

Heath Bear had 35 saves in the loss, while Cade Janecke scored the lone goal, with the assist coming from Emma Ness.

The Mite A and B teams will not play this weekend, as there is Bantam Tournament for 13- and 14-year-olds at SLICE.
