ALBANY - Junior Collin Argue scored 24 points, including 17 in the second half, to lead the Argyle High School boys basketball team to a 68-59 victory over Albany on Thursday.
Senior Riley Ostby scored 10 of his 18 points in the first half to help boost the Orioles (8-3, 3-2 Six Rivers East) to a 32-28 halftime advantage. The Orioles outscored the Comets 36-31 in the second half.
Albany coach Derik Doescher said Argyle's lead bounced from three to seven points for most of the second half.
"Credit to them, they fought off all of our runs," Doescher said. "They certainly deserved to win tonight. They outhustled us and outrebounded us. Rebounding was a big deal."
Senior Tyler Dahl scored 28 points to lead Albany (6-5, 2-3). Junior Brock Gilkes added 10, including two 3-pointers.
Argue and Ostby also made two 3-pointers each.
"I think these guys are hungry," Argyle coach Justin Jenson said. "It's been a long time coming. These guys are starting to see success. As the season goes on they are getting hungrier."
Argyle senior Kyle Emberson chipped in nine points on three 3-pointers.
"In the past, late in the game, we have seen other teams go on runs to close out games against us," Jenson said. "We went on a run to close out the game. They are starting to realize that each guy is a scoring threat."

Barneveld's Bryce Arneson added 10 points.
