Argyle rolls by Juda

ARGYLE - Junior Collin Argue scored a game-high 21 points and was one of three players in double figures to help the Orioles roll to a 68-39 win over Juda Tuesday.

"Our press did wonders," Argyle coach Justin Jenson said. "Our guys did a great job of being physical with their ball-handlers. Our press did a phenomenal job of creating turnovers. We got some easy baskets."

Argyle senior Kyle Emberson added 15 points and drilled three 3-pointers.

Argyle (9-3, 4-2 Six Rivers East) outscored the Panthers 42-23 in the second half. Argyle senior Riley Ostby had 14 points.

Juda (5-9, 1-5 Six Rivers East) was playing without junior Matt Schmitt, who entered the game averaging 15.3 points per game. Juda sophomore Keegen Haffele scored a team-high 10 points and hit two 3-pointers. Junior teammate Skyler Stuckey added eight points.



Albany 65, Monticello 50

ALBANY - Albany coach Derik Doescher turned to a press defense in the second half and the Comets cruised to a 65-50 win over Monticello Tuesday night.

Albany (7-5, 3-3 Six Rivers East) led by five points at the half, 31-26. The Ponies made four of their five 3-pointers in the first half. The Comets outscored the Ponies 34-24 in the second half.

Albany senior Tyler Dahl scored a game-high 21 points. Senior teammate Cole Trapp added 18 points. The Comets hit four 3-pointers led by Connor Trow who made two 3-pointers.

Monticello's Zach Price scored a team-high 14 points and Travis McCoy added 11 points and hit three 3-pointers. Teammate Brandon Gafner chipped in 10 points and two 3-pointers, which all came in the first half.

"We had to make an adjustment and get out on their shooters," Doescher said. "You have to give Monticello credit. They came out fearless and played hard. We switched to a press and forced some turnovers that got our offense going."

With the loss, Monticello drops to 0-12, 0-6.



Jefferson 56, Brodhead 41

BRODHEAD - Jack Cincotta scored a game-high 24 points to carry Jefferson to a 56-41 win over Brodhead.

Jefferson's Ryan Brost scored nine of his 11 points in the first half to lead the Eagles to a 29-21 edge at the half.

Cincotta scored 15 of his points in the second half as Jefferson outscored the Cardinals 27-20.

Brodhead's Parker Johnson and Justice Tway each scored a team-high 12 points. Sophomore teammate Brekan Day added nine points. Johnson hit four 3-pointers to lead the Cardinals.



Pecatonica 72, Black Hawk 46

SOUTH WAYNE - Pecatonica junior A.J. Hendrickson scored a game-high 30 points to lead the Vikings to a 72-48 win over Black Hawk.

Pecatonica (10-3, 5-1 Six Rivers East) also got a big game from junior Logan Green who added 11 points.

The Vikings jumped out to a 43-25 lead at the half.

Black Hawk's Josh Meier scored a team-high 13 points. The Warriors (5-7, 2-4) made five 3-pointers.
