WHITEWATER - Three area student-athletes will be competing for the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater track and field teams for the upcoming indoor season.
Darlington's Kent Miehe, a senior majoring in mathematics, was ninth in the WIAC in the 3,000-meter steeplechase last season and will compete again for the Whitewater men's team this year. Darlington's Cole Trumble, majoring in environmental science, also is on the team. The Whitewater men are ranked 11th in the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association NCAA Division III Indoor Preseason Computer Rankings.
Jessica Jackson, a native of Monroe and graduate of Monroe High School, will compete for the Whitewater women in 2016. Jackson, a junior, is majoring in general business. The Whitewater women's team has hopes of competing for a WIAC championship and maintaining its high national standing behind a talented group of returners and new recruits.
