Virginia A. Drake, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at her home.  She was born on December 15, 1938 the daughter of Albert and Margaret (Buehler) Goepfert.  She graduated from Argyle High School.  Virginia was united in marriage to Jackie Drake on February 4, 1959 in Blanchardville.

Virginia drove school bus for Monroe for 24 years.  She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ where she sang in the church choir for many years.  Virginia enjoyed bowling and crocheting afghans.  Most of all Virginia enjoyed spending time with her family. 

Virginia is survived by her children, Timothy (Lisa) Drake of Pearl City, IL, Jeffrey Drake of Beloit, Tammy Drake of Blanchardville, and Jackie (Chad) Boeck of Monroe; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and brother Pete Goepfert of Monticello.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jackie; brother, Bill; and granddaughter, Amanda Nye. 

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 12:00 PM Noon at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home with Reverend Christina Schoenwetter officiating.
