Richard “Rick” John Alston, age 49, of Monroe, unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison. He was born on September 23, 1973 the son of Paul and Gloria (Prien) Alston.  Richard was a 1992 Monroe High School graduate, continuing his education at Blackhawk Tech, where he received a Computer Science degree.

Richard dedicated over 23 years of service to the Monroe School District as a computer technician and a custodian at Abraham Lincoln. He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church.  Richard loved music; he was the stage manager for the band Johny Trash. He also enjoyed fishing, football, and NASCAR.  Most of all, he loved spending time with family and a group of friends too numerous to count. 

Richard is survived by his brothers, David Reinking of Green Bay, Paul (Kristine) Alston of Schofield, Russell Alston of Monroe; sister, Diane (Sara) Reinking of St. Paul, MN; and nephews, Tommy and Robby Alston of Schofield.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Memorial Service will be held at Noon 12:00 PM on Saturday, September 30 2023 at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Perger officiating. 

A Celebration’s of Rick’s Life will be held on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.  Condolences may be sent to the family at: shriner111.com.
