Martha (Zimmerman) Elmer, 83, Surprise, Arizona, passed away peacefully Aug. 15, 2020. She was born June 15, 1937 in Monroe, WI. She was the daughter of Adolph and Nina Zimmerman.

She graduated from Albany, Class of 1955. She entered Beauty Culture School in Madison.

Later, she married Arlyn Elmer in 1959 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Albany and moved to Elgin, IL where they raised their 4 children. She had a Beauty Shop in her home and also worked at Sears Store.

After their retirement they moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico and built a new home.

She is survived by Terri (Jeff) Ahle of Sycamore, IL; Craig (Mary Pat) Elmer of Colorado; Randy (Stephanie) Elmer of Buckeye, AZ; and Candi (Nigel) Sargent of Parker, CO; 4 grandchildren and 1 step grandson; sister Betty (Gary) Brugger; son-in-law’s; sister-in-law; nephews and nieces.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Ryan Ahle, sister Gertrude (Anton) Moest, Adolph Jr (Isabel) Zimmerman.

She resided in Surprise Arizona the last 1 ½ years of her life.

She enjoyed people and loved playing all sorts of card games and Chicken Foot and was very talented in sewing projects and quilting items also. Baking and cooking were her good traits.
