Lauri J. Gille, Age 60, of South Wayne, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 4, 2022, surrounded by family. Lauri was born on May 23, 1962 in Monroe, the daughter of Ronald R. and Cecilia (Grawehr) Klemm. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1981 and was united in marriage to Kevin Gille on May 23, 2009.
A lifelong resident of the Monroe area, Lauri’s life was too short. Those of us who were blessed by her presence will be forever impacted. She will always be in our hearts. Lauri was a kind, caring and giving person who always put the needs of her family before her own.
Lauri was a master of cooking and baking and an amazing grandmother. When Lauri wasn’t working for the Monroe Manor spending over 30 years providing meals to the residents, she could be found baking handed down recipes for family events. Not a day went by where Lauri didn’t talk about how much her children and family meant to her—her family was arguably her most important achievement in life.
She is survived by her husband, Kevin Gille of South Wayne; son, Matt Heinzelman of Platteville; daughter, Amie (Nick) Spence of Franklin, WI; step-children, Jake (Amanda) Gille of Warren, IL, Samantha Gille of Monroe; three grandchildren, Tatum Baumgartner, Emery and Easton Spence; Brothers, Greg (Ellen) Klemm of San Antonio, TX, Mark (Linda) Klemm of South Beloit, IL; and sister, Becky (Dave) West of Antigo. She is further survived by sisters-in-law, Debbie (Mick Singer) Gille of Machesney Park, IL, Mary Lou Schultz of Merrimac, WI; and brother-in-law, Larry Erickson of Argyle. She was preceded in death by her parents; mother-in-law, Patsy Gille; sister-in-law, Lauri Ann Erickson; and brother-in-law, Rob Schultz.
Visitation will be on Sunday, August 7, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at the NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 1329 31st. Avenue, Monroe.
