Kathryn “Kathy” Colden

Kathryn “Kathy” Colden, age 58, of Juda passed away peacefully on Monday, March 17, 2025 at SSM Health Hospice Home. She was born the daughter of Gayle and Catherine “Kate” (McComish) Monson on March 18, 1966, in Darlington. She was a 1984 graduate of Black Hawk High School; she also earned her Associates Degree as a Medical Office Assistant from Southwest Technical College in Fennimore, WI. Kathy was united in marriage to Jamie Colden on April 29, 1988, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Argyle. 

 

Kathy was employed by Colony Brands for over 40 years, starting in the bakery as summer help and ultimately moving up to Production Manager. She had many joys in her life but none more than her family. Whether it was going for Ranger rides with Jamie, preparing family meals, or going to Concerts on the Square, she was never happier than when she was spending time with her loved ones. Kathy was very proud of her Irish & Norwegian heritage and enjoyed celebrating St. Patrick's Day and her birthday with family & friends. She was a member of St. Victor's Catholic Church of the St. Clare of Assisi parish. 
 

Kathy is survived by her husband, Jamie Colden of Juda; son, Cody (Jaclyn Schraut) Colden of Kimberly, WI; father, Gayle Monson of Monroe; siblings, Dan (Mary) Monson, Jeff (Laurie) Monson, Jane (Tim) Franz, Susie (Curt) Campbell, and Steve (Mindy) Monson; brother-in-law, Tim (Pam) Colden; sister-in-law, Jackie Colden; and parents-in-law, Gary and Lou Colden. She is further survived by her nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly, Justin, Phil, Adam, Anna, Aaron, Marissa, Grace, Sarah, Matthew, Mackenzie, Jordan, Hunter, and Brady; her “sisters from another mother”, Sherri Johnson (Shawn Amacher) and Carissa (David and their family) Kammerer; her many friends, and all of her Colony family. 
 
She was preceded in death by her mother, Kate; and niece, Angela Franz. 
 
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Victor’s Catholic of St. Clare of Assisi Parish with Father Chahm Gahng as celebrant. Burial will follow service at Mount Vernon Cemetery in Juda. 
 
Visitation will be held Friday, March 21, 2025 at Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Kathy’s memory to kimshope.org or SSM Health Hospice Home in Monroe. 
 
The family would like to thank SSM Monroe Cancer Care team, UW Medical & Radiation Oncology, St. Mary’s Neurosurgery, ICU & 5 East tower staff, Juda Fire & First Response, SSM Health Hospice Home, and Pleasant View nursing home.
