Judith A. Munro, age 84, of Monroe, died on Monday, March 11, 2024 at the SSM Monroe Hospice Home. Judy was born on February 22, 1940 in Superior, WI, the daughter of Thomas F. and Mona Evelyn (Tyson) Vriesacker. She graduated from Superior Cathedral High School in 1958 and attended U.W. Superior before completing her training as a Certified Medical Technologist at the College of St. Scholastica and St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, MN. Judy was united in marriage to James Munro on December 29, 1962 in Superior. The couple lived in Bloomer, WI where Judy was a scout leader, and taught faith formation. In 1983, they moved to Monroe where Judy was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish, Monroe Hospital Auxiliary, Woman’s Club, and ABC Homemakers. Judy was a wonderful homemaker and took pride in caring for her family. She enjoyed traveling and spending time at the family cabin.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Munro; daughter, Sarah (Alan) Bennett; and granddaughter, Devri Bennett, all of Monroe. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Thomas C. Munro.

A memorial mass will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Clare of Assisi Parish, Monroe, with Father Dave Carrano officiating. Visitation will precede the service beginning at 9:00 a.m. Inurnment will be at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery, Superior, WI. A memorial fund will be established in Judy’s name for United Way of Green County. The Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, is assisting the family. Condolences may be shared at www.newcomerfuneralhome.net
