Helen Augusta Flannery, age 91, of Argyle passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. She was born the daughter of Frank and Reba (Teehan) Stoll on October 13, 1931 in Monroe. She was a 1949 graduate of Monroe High School. Helen was united in marriage to Gene Flannery on May 15, 1954 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Rectory in Freeport.

Helen lived and farmed in Argyle all her life. She also worked outside the home; when her children were young, she was a telephone operator. She also worked at Swiss Colony, Dorman’s Cheese, and Charleton. She enjoyed playing cards and going to the casino. Helen and Gene attended many dances at Turner Hall when they were younger. She was a longtime member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Argyle.

Helen is survived by her children, Mark (Vicky) Flannery of Dubuque, Virgil Flannery of Woodford, and Cindy (Bruce) Solberg of The Villages, FL; 7 grandchildren, Erika (Clint) Nemitz, Kelly Longhenry, Nicholas Flannery, Jeff (Riley) Solberg, Brad (Meghan) Solberg, Ben (Leah) Solberg and Andy (Elyse Guillory) Solberg; 5 great-grandchildren, Bryce, Kaleb, and Maddox Nemitz, Samantha Solberg, Beckem Solberg and Rowyn Solberg; and two special nephews and their families, Rick (Ruth) Wyss and Joe (Kara) Laeser.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Delbert Stoll; and sister, Mary Ellen (Walt) Laeser.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Argyle with Father Michael Johnson as celebrant. Burial will follow service at Calvary Cemetery in Argyle.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 10:00AM until the time of service, at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Friends of Pleasant View in Helen’s memory.

Helen’s family would like to extend a special thank you to all of the nurses and staff at Pleasant View Nursing Home for all their loving care.
