Evelyn Marie Mitchell, age 70 of Monroe, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2020 at the Monroe Clinic Hospital. She was born the daughter of Emery and Ethel (Lecksheid) Mitchell on August 14, 1949 in Brainerd, Crowwing County, MN. She was a graduate of South Beloit High School and attended college in River Falls where she earned her degree in Journalism.

Evelyn worked at Swiss Colony for several years, retiring in 2010. She was an active member of the Red Hatters, she also enjoyed sewing and going on bus trips though the Monroe Senior Center.

Evelyn is survived by her brothers, William, Dale (Julie), Larry and Martin Mitchell; sisters, Mary Moffitt and Judy Mitchell; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Edith and Edna Mitchell; brother-in-law, Gary Moffitt; and sister-in-law, Jackie Mitchell.
