Cody James Martin, age 27, of Monroe passed away on Wednesday, March 31, 2021. He was born the son of Calvin and Tammy (Yell) Martin, Sr. on October 3, 1993 in Madison. Cody was a 2012 graduate of Juda High School. After high school Cody joined the Army National Guard, where he proudly served and volunteered his time, and also learned to weld.

Cody was currently working for Schultz’s Inter-State Ag Service. He enjoyed being a part of several league activities including: sand volleyball, softball, pool, and steel darts. He also liked to hunt and fish. Cody especially enjoyed being with friends and family.

He will be dearly remembered for his big heart, hugs, and his “I love you’s”; as well as, his willingness to drop everything to be there for those he cared about. Cody also had a great sense of humor, and was always cracking jokes; he took fun-filled joy in “roasting” people.

Cody is survived by his significant other, Maryn Walters and their daughter, Penelope; parents, Tammy (Charlie) Worm and Calvin Martin, Sr.; siblings, Candace (Jeremie) Klaas, Calvin (Abigail) Martin, Jr., and Celine (Jason) Andes; nieces and nephews, Kalan, Brooklyn, Beau, Espn, Conrad, Sterling, Gideon, and one more expected in June; paternal grandmother, Dorothy Martin; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and numerous friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Michael Yell and Esta Bell; paternal grandfather, Larry Martin; and uncles, Michael Yell and James Martin, in infancy.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at SHRINER HAGER GOHKLE Funeral Home with Pastor Glenn Andes officiating. Burial will take place following the service in Saucerman Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 5, 2021 from 5:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.

A Celebration of Cody’s life will also be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family, to be help in the support of Maryn and Penelope.
