On May 15:

● 5:04 p.m. Deputies responded to USH 151, Belmont Township for a traffic complaint. Nathan R. Nilles, 32, Madison was traveling on USH 151 when he lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway, and struck a guardrail in the median. Nilles was transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries sustained in the crash. Nilles’ 2013 Chevrolet received disabling damage and was towed from the scene. UW-Platteville Campus Police and Lafayette County Highway Department assisted. Nilles was cited for Operating Without a Valid License (OWL — 1st Offense), Open Intoxicants, Operating While Intoxicated (OWI — 1st Offense), and Failure to Maintain Control. In addition, William J. Pilling, 85, Mineral Point was cited for Failure to Yield/Move Over to Emergency Response.

On May 16:

● 8:51 p.m. Terrance J. Mutert, 60, Shullsburg reported striking a deer on CTH O, Shullsburg Township. Mutert reported no injuries. Mutert’s 2015 Chevrolet received functional damage and was driven from the scene
