Kay M. Pink, age 92, of Monroe, died Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Pleasant View Nursing Home. Kay was born on August 8, 1933 in Hanover, Illinois, the daughter of Hilbert and Dorthea (Lombard) Thill. She graduated from Hanover High School and earned a degree from St. Joseph School of Nursing in Dubuque, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Marcus J. Pink on November 13, 1954. Kay worked as a nurse at Lancaster Memorial Hospital and Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County in Darlington for several years. She later was employed at St. Clare Hospital, Monroe Manor, and Color Putty.
She was a long time member of St. Victor Catholic Church in Monroe, enjoyed her Saturday morning coffee group, playing the piano, sewing, crocheting, flower gardening, and bird watching. Kay loved talking with people whether it was during one of her walks around town or in the grocery store. Above all, she cherished spending time with her grandchildren, family get-togethers, and was proud to have set a precedent as several of her family members pursued jobs in the medical field.
She is survived by five children, Melissa (Kevin) Phillips of Monroe, Steven (Rebecca) Pink of Necedah, WI, Marc (Jill) Pink of Roscoe, IL, Randall (Marion) Pink of Monroe, Cory (Cyndi) Pink of Newton, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; and 20 greatgrandchildren. She is further survived by daughters-in-law, Mahal Pink of Griswold, CT, Dawn Pink of Rockford, IL; and sisters-in-law, Mickey Thill and Joe (Shirley) Pink. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marcus, on December 12, 2010; sons, Thomas and Todd Pink; and brothers, Bob, Donald, Hibby, and Tom Thill.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at 12:00 p.m., at Christ the King Parish at St. Victor Catholic Church, 1760 14th Street, Monroe, with Father Chahm Gahng, Celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery followed by a luncheon at the church. Visitation will precede the mass at church beginning at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in Kay’s name. The Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, is assisting the family.
