Arlene Lillian Weiss
Arlene Lillian Weiss

Arlene Lillian Weiss, age 84, of Monroe, Wisconsin, was called from death unto eternal life with her Lord on April 14, 2020.

Arlene was born on February 4, 1936, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, the daughter of Wilbur and Lillian (Doyle) Haase. She was joined in marriage to Robert Weiss from October 1953 to February 1990. Together they had nine children.

Arlene was a dedicated, loving mother. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. The only One she loved more than her children was her Lord, and she never hesitated to share that love with others. She always had a smile on her face, even in her last days when things were very difficult. She brought joy to all who knew her, and was a great example of' love, always seeing the good in people.

Her list of accomplishments may not include degrees and careers, but are the important things in life: her family, her care and love for others, and the example she was of a Godly woman. Her favorite Bible verse was Psalm 46:10, "Be still and know that I am God."

We will miss her smile, her contagious laughter, and her many baked goods.

She is survived by her children, Mark (Sara) Weiss of Stoughton, Julie (Jim) Buckley of Wausau, John (Kim) Weiss of Delevan, Frederick (Mary) Weiss of Reedsburg, Carol (John) Powell of Heron, IL, Mary (Matt) Spoonhour of Monroe, and Michael (Rebecca) Weiss of Madison; 24 grandchildren; and over 30 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her half-sister, Linda (Duane) Nitz of Berlin; half-brother, Roger (Jean) Haase of Beaver Dam; step-brother, Ronald (Judy) Haase of Ripon; brother-in-law, Joe Mathe; and sister-in-law, Roberta Haase.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Pauline Weiss; son, David Weiss; brother, Paul Haase; and sister, Rose Marie Mathe.

Private Graveside services were held at Eureka Cemetery in Eureka, WI. Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home is assisting the family. Condolences may be sent to the family at: shriner111.com.
