ROLLA, Mo. (AP) - A Missouri University of Science and Technology student pleaded not guilty in the shooting death of her fiance.

Meghan Werner is charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action in the death of Curt L. Marzolf, a Monroe native.

The Rolla Daily News reports court records indicate Werner was seen staggering on a downtown Rolla street early Saturday. Police say Werner told an officer her fiance had just committed suicide. Marzolf was found dead of a gunshot wound at a Rolla home.

Court documents say officers found signs of an altercation at the house and that an assault rifle believed to be used in the shooting was moved after Marzolf was shot.

Werner and Marzolf were Missouri S & T students.
