MONTICELLO - Monticello will have their annual community celebration Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

And with a large weekend event, Monticello Police are reminding those attending areas that will be closed.

The municipal lot will close at 12:01 a.m. Friday, July 8 and will remain closed through Homecoming and during the new municipal parking lot construction project.

There will be limited handicapped parking on the north side of the municipal lot by the Monticello Ford garage, by the new and used car lot, on North Monroe Street.

North Monroe Street and the North Avenue intersection to the north, towards Gempeler's Market alley way, will be closed at 6 a.m. Saturday, July 9 to any through traffic.

This area has been designated as a motorcycle parking area, which is the Stagin and Return trip parking area for MC's only.

County F, from Wisconsin 69 to Main Street, will be closed to any through traffic during the display of the fireworks at 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

After the fireworks display, traffic officers will reopen this portion of the road and help direct traffic out of the village. The fireworks display will start at 9:45 p.m. at the Montesian Lake.

There will no parking on County F, or East Lake Avenue; and County C, also known as North Main Street, from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday for the parade route.

The staged-in area of all parade participants will be at the Industrial Parks area, which will be a temporary one way street. Parade officials and coordinators will be at their designated entrances.

Signs and barricades will be up and posted during these times.

Monticello Police Chief Thomas J. Erb said in a press release that any vehicles found in the temporary no parking zones will be cited and can be towed at owner's expense.
