MONROE - A Monroe woman was arrested by Illinois authorities after leading Green County police in pursuit Friday morning, Nov. 8.
Vicky Lynn Hayden-West, 35, was taken into custody by officers from the Stephenson County Sheriff's and Freeport Police departments on charges of eluding law enforcement. She will also be charged with five counts of failure to stop/improper stop at a stop sign, and with unreasonable and imprudent speed, according to a news release from the Green County Sheriff's Department.
Green County deputies attempted to stop Hayden-West at about 11:11 a.m. Friday after observing her vehicle run a stop sign at the intersection of 17th Street and 4th Avenue West. She continued to flee, committing numerous other traffic violations, officials said. The pursuit ended near Betel Road and County B after deputies obtained the license plate number and identified the driver.
