Vernon L. "Bud" Lincicum

Vernon L. "Bud" Lincicum, age 83 of rural Monroe, Wisconsin, died Sunday, June 22, 2008 at Monroe Clinic Hospital. He was born on September 20, 1924 in Illinois, the son of Lloyd and Edna (Rice) Lincicum.

Vernon and Kathryn M. Moss were married on October 13, 1945 in Freeport, Illinois, and they farmed in the South Wayne area for over 50 years. He enjoyed gardening, yard work, birds, fishing, playing farkel, traveling, and most of all, spending time with his family.

Surviving is his loving wife of 62 years, Kathryn "Katie" Lincicum of rural Monroe; children, Sharon Sutter, Monroe, Paul (Sandy) Lincicum, rural Monroe; Shirley Montanye, Monroe, Kathy (Alan) Leitzen, Roberts, WI, Dennis (Connie) Lincicum, Lone Oak, TX, Walter (Connie) Lincicum, South Wayne, Laurie (Wayne) Rose, Monroe; half brothers, Steven (Helen) Lincicum, Browntown, Scott (Cindy) Lincicum, Juda, Todd (Kathy) Lincicum, Monroe; 29 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Evelyn Lincicum; son-in-law, Keith Sutter; 2 granddaughters, Tamara and Michelle Lincicum; and a great-grandson, Ethan Montanye.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 27, 2008 at SHRINER-HAGER-GOHLKE FUNERAL HOME, 1455 Mansion Drive and 18th Avenue in Monroe with Pastor Eric Erickson officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Freeport, Illinois.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2008 at the funeral home. A memorial fund is being established in Vernon's memory.
