MONROE - Two 33-year-old men were arrested on meth-related charges during a traffic stop near Decatur Lake in rural Brodhead early Wednesday, Aug. 7, according to a news release from the Green County Sheriff's Department.
Jacob E. Johnson, Brodhead, and Samuel A. Meier, Madison, are charged with possessing drug paraphernalia used for methamphetamines. Meier is also charged with possessing meth.
Deputies made the arrests on Cottage Road at Evergreen Street in Decatur Township, north of Brodhead, after stopping a vehicle at 2:22 a.m. for having no registration plates.
Johnson was also cited for a fifth offense of driving with a suspended license and for not wearing a seatbelt. Meier was cited for having a non-registered, uninsured vehicle and for not wearing a seatbelt.
They remain jailed on the drug charges. Both have court dates in Green County Circuit Court at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 26.
