Traffic Accidents: June 14, 2013

MONROE - On Wednesday, June 12:

• A 14-year-old boy was uninjured in a tractor accident reported at 10:48 a.m. in Jordan Township. The boy was operating a 2006 New Holland T6050 tractor northbound in the N3500 block of Hiawatha Road, pulling about 15 tons of silage in a chopper box, when the chopper box began to fishtail for more than 550 feet before veering off the west side of the road. The tractor and chopper box then went down a steep embankment, causing the chopper box to overturn onto its side. The tractor did not overturn. The boy was wearing a seatbelt. The chopper box was severely damaged, and the tractor sustained minor damage. Both were towed from the scene.

• David A. Oblinger, 52, Belvidere, Ill., and his passengers reported no injuries from a single-vehicle crash at 4:06 p.m. in the N5700 block of Wisconsin 69 in Washington Township. Oblinger was northbound when he struck an object lying in the road. The vehicle sustained minor damage. The owner contacted a tow service to change the tire, and then the vehicle was driven from the scene.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - Christine P. Unbehaun, 52, Shullsburg, reported no injuries from a deer vs. vehicle crash on Wis. 23 in Darlington Township at 6:07 a.m. Wednesday, June 12. Her vehicle sustained moderate damage.
