MONROE - Injuries were reported during a one-vehicle accident at 1:06 p.m. Monday on County F, near Decatur Road, in the Town of Decatur. Reports indicate that Brandon S. Larson-Hart, 21, Brodhead, was driving northbound on County F when his vehicle started to smoke and then start on fire. Larson-Hart applied the emergency brake to stop, and then steered into a bean field. The vehicle became fully engulfed. Larson-Hart was not injured and he reported wearing his seatbelt. A passenger, Benjamin J. Stewart, 20, Brodhead, was transported by the Brodhead EMS to Mercy Hospital in Janesville for injuries he sustained from the fire. The vehicle sustained severe damages and was towed from the scene. The Brodhead Fire Department assisted at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.

- Injuries were reported during a one-vehicle accident at 1:37 p.m. Monday on County FF, near Gutzmer Road, in the Town of Sylvester. Reports indicate that a semi-tractor trailer unit loaded with straw had overturned. The driver, Karl Schultz, 51, Monticello, was traveling east on County FF when he lost control of the semi-tractor trailer unit while negotiating a curve. The semi unit slid off the east side of the roadway then overturned. Schultz was transported to the Monroe Clinic Hospital by the Monroe EMS for injuries. The semi had extensive damage and was towed from the scene. The Monroe Fire Department and the Wisconsin State Patrol assisted at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
