Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Sunday:

• A deputy performed a welfare check of a clerk at a business on West Moundview Avenue, Belmont, after it was reported at 1 a.m. phone contact could not be made with the business. The worker was fine; the phone system had been affected by a power outage caused by a transformer and power line fire earlier Sunday morning.

• A deputy responded at 11:02 a.m. to a location on Picanax Street, Shullsburg, for a report of a stolen trailer that was located.

• A deputy took a report of attempted theft of a political sign at 2:20 p.m. at a location on School Street, Blanchardville. A neighbor stopped the theft and alerted the owner. A suspect vehicle was identified and the incident remains under investigation.

• A deputy assisted with providing a ride to a subject from the Yellowstone Lake area to a location in Darlington at 8:35 p.m. The subject was left at the recreation area after a party and was refused transportation back home.

On Monday:

• A deputy assisted a citizen by providing a ride from the Blanchardville area to a location in Argyle at 1:45 a.m. the subject had been left in the area by a driver.

• A deputy assisted Platteville police with an out-of-control juvenile at 8:20 p.m. on County XX, Belmont Township.

On Tuesday:

• Deputies responded to a report of disorderly conduct at 8:35 a.m. on Wisconsin 11, Benton Township.

• Brenda J. Mick, 31, was transported from Tacheedah Correctional Institution at 9 a.m. to Lafayette County Jail for a court appearance on Wednesday.

• A deputy found property at 11 a.m. on North Main Street, Village of Benton.

• A deputy was dispatched at 11:47 a.m. to a report of livestock on the roadway on Wis. 81, Elk Grove Township.

• A deputy responded to a 911 hang-up call on Judgement Street, Shullsburg at 3:20 p.m.



Darlington Police

DARLINGTON - Nicholas Orloff, 21, Wisconsin Dells, was cited at 6:15 p.m. Saturday for disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia following a service call to the 800 block of Washington Street. Edith Davenport, 40, Darlington was cited during the same incident for disorderly conduct.

• Kenneth M. Wilson, 64, Darlington, was cited at 10:45 a.m. Sunday for having open intoxicants in a vehicle and violating a child safety restraint law, following a traffic crash on the Main Street bridge. He was released pending court.



Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD - Kevin L. Bobolz, 35, Brodhead, was cited at 8:18 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, for driving after suspension in the 2100 block of 1st Center Avenue. He was released pending court. His passenger, Jason I. Terry, 37, Beloit, was arrested on two active warrants issued by Rock County and Beloit Municipal Court for failure to appear to court dates. He was jailed pending court.

On Friday:

• Raul A. Escobedo, 37, Monroe, was arrested at 7:42 p.m. for criminal trespassing and disorderly conduct in the 1000 block of 21st Street. He was jailed pending court.

• Justin D. Halvorson, Brodhead, was arrested at 9:25 p.m. in the 900 block of East 8th Avenue on active warrants issued by Dane County. He was jailed pending court.

• Barry T. Diffenderfer, 41, Brodhead, was arrested at 8:30 p.m. Saturday for domestic abuse-related disorderly conduct in the 200 block of 8th Street. He was released on cash bond.



New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - On Monday, May 19:

• Police received a report of an odor of natural gas emanating in the area of 5th Avenue and 1st Street at 2:21 p.m. It was found that a natural gas pipe had disconnected in the area of the street construction. WE Energies was already on scene fixing the problem.

• Police investigated a report of unwanted text messages at 8:54 p.m. in the 10 block of 14th Avenue. The investigation continues.

• Police responded to a report of a low-hanging power line on Wis. 69 and County H at 10:29 p.m. Tuesday, May 20. Investigation revealed that a light pole had been hit by a vehicle. Alliant Energy was contacted and the pole was stabilized.

On Thursday:

• Police responded to several parking complaints in the 100 block of 4th Avenue at 9:30 a.m. All of the owners of the vehicles were located and the vehicles were removed.

• Police were called for a reported gas drive-off from a convenience store on Wis. 69 at 10:04 a.m. Investigation determined the drive-off was accidental. The gas was paid for and no further action was taken.

• Police received a complaint of a resident mowing their lawn and blowing grass clippings into the roadway. The subjects cleaned up the roadway at 3:36 p.m. Friday.

On Sunday:

• Cale A. Zettle, 21, Brodhead, was cited at 1:11 a.m. for possessing an alcoholic beverage in public in the 200 block of 4th Avenue.

• Terry M. Winkers, 47, New Glarus, was cited at 1:40 a.m. for possessing an alcoholic beverage in public in the 400 block of 2nd Street.

• Police were dispatched at 5:23 a.m. for a check welfare of an intoxicated person in the 10 block of 2nd Street. Everything was determined to be OK.

• Police assisted Green County deputies with a report of a fight on Ashley Lane at 3:15 a.m.

• Gregory M. Haag, 23, Marshall, was cited at 12:54 a.m. Monday for possessing an alcoholic beverage in public in the 100 block of 5th Avenue.



Monroe Police

MONROE - Michael W. Kaderly, 45, Monroe, was arrested at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday for disorderly conduct and battery after police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 2500 block of 9th Street. Kaderly was jailed pending court.
