Monroe Police

MONROE - Kip A. Bear, 50, Monroe, was arrested in the 700 block of 12th Avenue at 10:46 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, on several outstanding warrants issued by the Monroe Police Department, including a warrant for charges from 2011 of failing to pay child support. He was jailed. In Green County Circuit Court Monday, Aug. 12, his signature bond was set at $5,000 with the condition that he not leave Wisconsin without the Department of Corrections' permission.

- Seancody L. Anderson, 18, Monroe, was arrested on charges of retail theft and bail jumping at Walmart at 5:04 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12. He reportedly shoplifted a $27 bottle of Southern Comfort whiskey while out on a $1,500 signature bond from two weeks ago that stipulates he not drink.

On Saturday, Aug. 10:

- A snake was reported under a vehicle in the Spring Square parking lot at 12:11 p.m. Upon further inspection, the snake was actually dead.

- A set of keys found on the bike trail near Monticello were dropped off at 1:55 p.m. at the police station.

- An ongoing dispute between two women over harassing text messages escalated when the women ran into each other in the Kwik Trip parking lot in the 1000 block of 9th Street at 3:33 p.m., and one reportedly started yelling and swearing at the other. As a result, Alyssa D. Fischer, 23, Monroe, was cited for disorderly conduct.

- At 6:47 p.m., a resident reported witnessing two boys, ages 9 and 7, throwing rocks at cars in the 1000 block of 30th Avenue. An officer gave the boys a stern warning.

On Sunday, Aug. 11:

- A caller at 2:36 a.m. reported finding an unresponsive man lying on the sidewalk at 13th Street and 13th Avenue. The 23-year-old was incapacitated by alcohol. Police turned him over to a responsible party.

- Police responded to several complaints around 2:30 a.m. of loud music at a residence in the 600 block of 17th Avenue. Police could see people inside the residence, but no one would come to the door.

- The theft of a vehicle from the 2300 block of 17th Avenue was reported at 4:18 a.m. At 1:24 p.m., the stolen vehicle was located on fire in the N900 block of Woelfe Road just south of Monroe. Green County deputies are investigating the cause of the fire. The vehicle was totally destroyed. Police are following leads in the case.

- A woman called 911 at 11:22 a.m. to report a civil dispute over a vehicle in the area of 15th Street and 20th Avenue. She told police she gave a vehicle she thought was in need of extreme repair to a man. Later she was surprised to see someone driving it, and it still has her license plates on it. Police advised her this is a civil matter, and not criminal.

- A loud argument in an apartment complex in the 300 block of 4th Street was reported by a neighbor at 11:42 a.m. The people were just arguing. They were told to be quieter. No one was cited or arrested.

- A woman reported an argument she was having with a former live-in boyfriend over a car at 11:44 a.m. in the 1500 block of 13th Avenue. No one was cited or arrested. The couple was told not to argue in public.

- A stray cat wearing a collar was reported found in the 1500 block of Parkview Drive at 1:03 p.m. A vet wasn't available at the Green County Humane Society to evaluate the cat, so the resident told police she'd wait and maybe keep the cat.

- A stray dog wearing a collar was reported found in the area of the Merit Center, 2955 2nd St. The resident who found the dog was going to hang on to it until it was claimed.

- Police were called at 4:38 p.m. to the 1200 block of 10th Street for a custody dispute between a small child's great aunt and the male who claims to be the child's father. Police told him he'll have to work out his custody issues with the mother.

- A small dog was reported at large at 5:57 p.m. in the 900 block of 30th Avenue. No dog was located.

- Police responded to the 600 block of 4th Avenue at 6:25 p.m. for a female's complaint that her ex's parents were following her around. Police determined the parents were actually trying to flag her down for a legitimate reason and deemed the complaint unfounded.

- Police were called at 7:23 p.m. to a couple arguing in an apartment in the 1700 block of 30th Avenue. No one was cited or arrested.

- A loud argument that had dragged on several hours and involved intoxicated people was reported at 9:05 p.m. at an apartment complex in the 700 block of 12th Avenue. No one was cited or arrested.

- Police were called to an argument between a grandmother and her grandson at 11:11 p.m. in the 2300 block of 14th Avenue. They were warned to stop.

On Monday, Aug. 12:

- The theft of telecommunications cabling materials that contain copper were reported stolen at 9:08 a.m. from a cellular tower in the 1600 block of 6th 1/2 Avenue.

- The owner of a travel trailer parked on a lawn in the 500 block of 26th Avenue was warned to move it after police responded at 10:02 a.m. to a complaint about the code violation.

- The owner of a boat on a trailer parked in a yard in the 400 block of 11th Avenue was warned at 10:04 a.m. to move it.

- Untreated weeds were reported at 10:07 a.m. on the land of a former business in the 1400 block of Mansion Drive.

- A junk-filled pickup truck parked in Spring Square downtown was reported at 11:07 a.m. Police talked with the owner.

- A caller at 1:11 p.m. in the 700 block of 18th Avenue reported that a Monroe resident has garage sales five to six days every week and wondered if this is against city code. There is no city regulation governing how often someone can have a garage sale. Police referred the caller to the neighborhood's alderman.

- A 4-year-old girl was reported missing at 2:56 p.m. from the area of 7th Street at 15th Avenue. She was later located at a neighbor's house playing.

- A 19-year-old man reported being punched by a male acquaintance at 9:16 p.m. in the 1100 block of 10th Avenue. He told police the acquaintance stopped him along the street, asked for money he felt was owed him, punched him and then drove off. The 19-year-old sustained minor injuries.

New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - Police have released the name of a New Glarus resident cited after he was found to be highly intoxicated in Culver's on Saturday afternoon, Aug. 10. Kacy L. Dearing, 39, was cited for disorderly conduct and then transported to a detox facility in Madison. Police and an ambulance were initially called to the restaurant at 1:35 p.m. for a report of a male with unknown medical issues.

Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Monday, Aug. 12:

- Criminal damage to property was reported at 9:30 a.m. on Mine Road in Elk Grove Township.

- Annie Kinwa Muzinga, 48, Platteville, was cited for speeding at 9:54 a.m. on Wisconsin 81 in Seymour Township.

- Julie A. Clough, 51, Benton, was cited for speeding at 5:08 p.m. on Wis. 11 in South Wayne.
