MINERAL POINT - Lorraine Ida Jones, age 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at the Mineral Point Care Center. She was born on October 15, 1926 in Mineral Point, the daughter of Henry and Shirley (Goelz) Hellickson. Lorraine graduated from Mineral Point High School in 1944. She married Byron Royce Jones on October 25, 1947 at the First United Methodist Church in Mineral Point. She worked at Burgess Battery and then owned and operated Lorries Floral for several years in Mineral Point. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge No. 147 and Eastern Star, both for over 50 years.

She is survived by her children: Royce (Marleen) Jones of Dodgeville, Bonnie (Duane) Juedes of Mineral Point, Steve (Bonnie) Jones of Rewey and Lynn (Jeff) Mair of Gratiot; 10 grandchildren: Jannel (David) McCallum, Jeanna (Derek) Blume, Angie Lindholm, Kelly (Steve) Miller, Darren (Daniela) Jones, Garrett Jones, Ashley (Matt) Burns, Jessica Mair, Jennifer Mair, and Jarrod Mair; a sister, Nelda Digman of West Allis; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Shirley (Arnold) Chambers of Mineral point; a special niece, India Blade; and a great-nephew, John Blade; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Byron in 2004; a brother-in-law, Larry Digman.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church in Mineral Point. Pastor Mary Anne Conklin will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 27, 2010 from 4 until 8 p.m. at the Gorgen Funeral Home in Mineral Point, and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church. An Eastern Star service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Friday evening.
