Joyce Y. Theiler age 75 of Juda, died at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, March 20, 2014 following a long illness. Joyce was born April 23, 1938 in Jefferson Township, Green County, the daughter of Myron D. and Myrtle Faye (Miller) Zimmerman. She graduated from Juda High School in 1955 and married Thomas T. Theiler on December 8, 1957 at the E.U.B. Church, Juda. The couple farmed on the Theiler home farm in Jefferson Township and built a new home on Hafen Road in 1986. Following Tom's death on Sept. 30, 1988, Joyce continued to help her son on the farm until 2006. Joyce loved spending time with her family and was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She cherished the outdoors and always tended to multiple gardens. She was an amazing cook who took pride in cooking meals for all of her family. Joyce enjoyed playing pool and in her younger years she always looked forward to Tuesday Night Ladies Golf League at Windy Acres.

She is survived by her daughter, Teresa J. (Ted) Frey of Edgerton; her son, Thomas E. (Denise) Theiler of Juda; seven grandchildren, Mark Frey, Nicole (Curt) Endres, Chad Phillipps, Kim Frey, Ashley Phillipps, and Tanna and Tabitha Theiler; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Carole) Zimmerman of Monroe; a sister, Hollis (Eddie) Smith of Greeley, CO; a sister-in-law, Georgia Zimmerman of Monroe; a brother-in-law, Gene (Maureen) Theiler of Milwaukee; and a special lifetime friend, Anita Gerber of Wausau. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a great-grandson, Grant Endres; very special in-laws, Edwin and Florence Theiler; two brothers, Buddy and Lamont Zimmerman; a brother-in-law, Rich Theiler, and sister-in-law Kate Peck.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, with Reverend Vicki Brantmeyer of the Zion United Methodist Church, Juda, officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund will be established in Joyce's name for the Monroe Clinic Hospice.
