Joan Davis Lenz, age 56, of Omro, died peacefully Saturday evening, July 31, 2010, at the Omro Care Center. She was born October 11, 1953, in Oshkosh, the daughter of Dale and Phyllis (Monahan) Davis. Joan had attended school in Omro and was a graduate of Omro High School. She married Jim Lenz and together this union was blessed with three children. Joan had a number of talents and passions in life. Her faith was very important to her and this was evidenced by the volunteer work she had done for the church. She very much enjoyed working with children and could often be found teaching religion class, working with the Boy Scouts and giving swimming lessons. Joan was a talented and accomplished seamstress. She also enjoyed working in the garden tending to her flowers and reading books. Joan loved various wines and had started a Wine Club while living in Minnesota.

Joan is loved and will be missed by her husband, Jim; children, Brigitte (special friend, John), J (special friend, Sarah) and Tim; her mother, Phyllis Monahan Davis; brothers and sisters, Mike (Mary) Davis, Dan (Barb) Davis, Beth (Terry) Redmann, Rita (David) Kratz and Janet (Dale) Wegner; her father and mother in law, John and Jo Lenz; brothers and sisters in law, John (Kathy) Lenz, Bob (Cheri) Lenz, Ken (Liz) Lenz, Dan Lenz, Bill (Diane) Lenz, Doug (Paula) Lenz and Dave (Ann) Lenz. Joan is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Dale Davis.

In respect to Joan's memory, the family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday, August 3, 2010, at the funeral home from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and then again on Wednesday, August 4, 2010, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 730 Madison Ave., Omro, from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M. with Fr. Joseph Mattern and Sr. Pam Biehl officiating. Burial will follow in the Omro Cemetery. A memorial in Joan's name is being established.

The family would like to acknowledge and give special thanks to the Omro Care Center, Valley Nurses Association and Hospice Advantage for the excellent support and care given to Joan and the rest of her family.
