Jim (James) Steuri, age 77 of Brodhead, Wisconsin, died on Wednesday, June 5, 2013, after a 13-year battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife Jean of 55 years; two sons, Joseph (JoAnn) Steuri, and David Pink (Heather) Steuri and their daughter, Allison, his only grandchild, all of Brodhead. Also surviving are two sisters, Jewell Walton of Lodi, Wisconsin and Fritzie (Mervin) Martie of Waldwick, Wisconsin.

Jim served with the US Army and was a Korean War Veteran. After discharge from the army, he was a cheesemaker with his father and later worked at the Twin Grove, Wisconsin cheese factory with the Jaeggi brothers. Jim worked at General Motors in Janesville, Wisconsin, for 31 years, retiring in 1988. Jim worked 20 years at Monroe Truck Equipment in the paint department, later becoming a delivery driver, retiring the second time in the fall of 2011.

Jim was a good son to his parents and cared for them as they grew older. He took great pride in maintaining a well-cared for yard. He was always willing to lend a hand and help friends and neighbors.

Jim was a Past Master of Bicknell Lodge Number 94 of Brodhead, Wisconsin. He was an active member of the VFW, working with the color guard and years earlier with the VFW bingo. He was involved with AMVETS and the American Legion of Brodhead, Wisconsin. He belonged to the Madison BMW club, enjoyed motorcycles and did not give up the passion, buying his last new motorcycle on May 13, 2013.
