James "Jim" Harder Sr., age 51, of Huntington, IN, formerly of Monroe, died on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 in Fort Wayne, IN. He was born on July 3, 1965 in Monroe, the son of Delbert and Kathleen (Jones) Harder.

James and Patricia Michael were married in 1991, together they had five children; they later separated.

He was a machine operator for Onward Manufacturing in Huntington, IN.

He enjoyed playing pool, belonging to a pool league, when he was in Monroe; he also enjoyed deer hunting in his younger years.

He is survived by his girlfriend, Tammy Welch; father, Delbert Harder; children: Ben, James, Jacob, Josh and Sarah Harder; step-daughter, Shantell Welch-Eppard; sister, Tami Powell; and step-grandaughter, Emma.

He is predeceased by his mother, Kathleen Nyman; step-father, Paul Nyman; brother, Richard Harder; and grandparents, Joe and Pauline Jones and David and Sara Harder.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at 12:00 noon at SHRINER-HAGER-GOHLKE funeral home with Pastor Blake Canterbury. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 30th, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 noon at the funeral home.
