Donald W. Deininger, age 92, of Monroe, died on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Rachel's Choice in Monroe. He was born on August 22, 1921 in Monroe, son of Ernest M. and Lena (Wenger) Deininger. He attended Monroe High School.

Donald and Dorothy E. Woodle were married on August 23, 1942 at St. John's United Church of Christ. Donald and Dorothy farmed in Jefferson Township until his retirement.

Donald was a former member of the Green County fair board serving as president, director and president of the Green County Farm Bureau, director and president of Clarno Mutual Insurance Company, Chairman of Jefferson township, and charter member of the Dairy Producer Trucking Co-Op. Don was an avid outdoorsman, he greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing. But most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his children, Donna Ostby of Monroe, Barbara (Ronald) Bernhagen of Monroe, William (Linda) Deininger of rural Monroe, Mike (Linda) Deininger of rural Monroe, Diane (Randy) Puttkamer of Baraboo, Jerry Deininger of rural Monroe; brother, Robert Deininger of Memphis, TN; sister, Edith Wheeler of Utah; 16 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Dorothy; brothers, Harold and Ben; sisters, Elizabeth Deakins and EmmaLou Finch.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 25, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Monroe Bible Church 2613-8th Avenue in Monroe, with Pastor Dan Krahenbuhl officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe. A visitation will be held on Sunday, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home. A memorial fund is being established in Don's memory.
