Diane M. Vickers, age 64, of Janesville died peacefully on Monday at Agrace Center for Hospice & Palliative Care in Janesville with her family by her side. She was born in Dodgeville, WI on October 23, 1949, the daughter of the late Carl R. and Margaret D. Berg. Diane graduated from Mineral Point High School in 1967 and went to work for American Family Insurance retiring in 2001, from the Janesville claims office. On October 26, 1974, in Monticello, WI, she married Wesley E. Vickers and together they had one daughter.

Diane was an avid reader having over 400 books in her collection. She was very proud of her family and cherished spending time with her grandchildren, whom she cared for daily. Diane was a very loving, caring wife and mother, with a wonderful smile, who always put others before her own needs. She enjoyed her Sunday drives watching the wildlife, fishing, playing with her dogs, Daisy and Lucy, and shopping with her daughter. Diane was the love of her husband's life and the best friend to her daughter, who will miss her dearly.

She is survived by her husband: Wesley; her daughter and son-in-law: Erica and Tyler Jenson of Verona, WI; and two grandsons whom she adored: Easton and Jase. She is further survived by her sisters: Virginia (Bill) Reynolds of Mineral Point, WI, Sharon (Tom) Meylor of Belmont, WI, and Henrietta (David) Nyhus of Blanchardville, WI; her brothers: Wayne Berg of Mineral Point, WI, Gerald (Pat) Berg of Livingston, WI, and David Berg of Dodgeville, WI; many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother: Eugene Berg.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at the Whitcomb - Lynch Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Bruce Jones officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in Diane's name to Agrace Center for Hospice, Janesville or the American Cancer Society.

A very warm thank you to everyone at Agrace Center for Hospice, Dr. Shekhani and the entire staff at the Mercy Oncology Dept. and Mercy Special Care Unit for the support and compassion that you have given to all of us during Diane's final journey. All of you are true Angels.
