Delbert F. "Duner" Soddy, Jr., age 62 of rural Browntown, Wisconsin died Thursday, August 22, 2013 at his home. He was born October 9, 1950 at Monroe, Wisconsin the son of Delbert, Sr. and Betty (Krupke) Soddy and graduated from Monroe High School in 1968.
Delbert married Coleen Kubly Rufenacht on November 8, 1980 at The Little Brown Church in the Vale at Nashua, Iowa. Delbert was a milk truck driver, roofer, and later took over the family farm in 1985. He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #754 and enjoyed bowling, playing softball, & was an avid sports fan.
Surviving are his wife, Coleen Soddy of Browntown, WI; son, Justin (Jennifer) Soddy of Monroe, WI; daughter, Bobby Jo (Dan) Jenson of Juda, step-son, James (Julie) Rufenacht of Gratiot, WI; step-daughters, Dawn Heller of Milwaukee, Hollie (Steve) Adamsky of Lake Elmo, MN, Heidi (Jerry) Rufenacht-VonKaenel of Monroe, & Lisa (Scott) Capesius of Green Bay, WI; brother, Roger (Stacie) Soddy of Browntown, WI; sisters, Vicki (Jeff) Makos of Monticello, WI, Sandra (Larry) Newcomer of Browntown, WI, Kathy (Rick) DeVoe of Juda, WI, & Pam Soddy of Browntown, WI; 2 grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; daughter, Charity Jo Soddy; step-grandson, James Rufenacht; and niece & nephew, Timothy & Tonya DeVoe.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home 1455 Mansion Drive & N. 18th Avenue in Monroe and from 10:00 to time of service at 11:00 A.M. Monday at church.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 26, 2013 at Peace Church in Christ in Browntown, WI with pastors Wayne Gregory & Kevin Cernek officiating. Burial will follow in Saucerman Cemetery in Cadiz Township, Wisconsin.
